Our Mission Partner - “I Support The Girls”

Our monthly Mission Partner for August is the nonprofit organization I Support the Girls. They are a 501-c international group based in Indianapolis, IA with 51 affiliate chapters throughout the U.S. Through these networks of affiliates, ISTG collects and distributes essential items, including bras, underwear, and personal hygiene products to service organizations who make sure the products are given to those who need them most. Whether the women are experiencing homelessness, impoverishment, cancer, domestic violence or distress it enables them to stand tall with dignity.

“A woman shouldn’t have to choose between feeding herself and her personal health. Every woman should have the ability to maintain her dignity. No one should have to make that choice!”

PPPC’s Presbyterian Women, which includes all women of the church, have had an ongoing mission of collecting items for “I Support the Girls” for the past five years.

How can PPPC help? Mark your calendars for August 2nd!

We have a representative from the local ISTG chapter coming to our church for a Minute for Mission informative talk. Lisa Shimrock is the Affiliate Associate covering Ocean and Monmouth counties and will also be on hand during coffee hour to speak individually to us. We would like to show Lisa that PPPC is committed to support this worthy program!

“I Support the Girls” current needs include:

individually wrapped sanitary pads and tampons, panty liners, new socks, new toothbrushes (not multi packs), travel size deodorant and full-size toiletry items. They also have an Amazon wish list! Check out their page on Facebook, “I Support the Girls, Central/South Jersey, they have a lot going on!

The donation bin will be in the narthex.
