Theme: “Antiheroes of the Bible”

 

Often our Biblical studies examine the virtues of the saints and give only a passing glance to the sinners in the story. This year we will focus on the less savory elements of the Bible stories. Who are these culprits and felons? Why are their stories told? What can we learn from their narratives? Some of the evil-doers ultimately become righteous followers of God. Other villains remain in shameful opposition to God and to community. We will examine some of the miscreants in both the Old and New Testaments. Plan to come for one or all sessions.  Bring a Bible and a friend. Pastor Eileen will facilitate.
